Title: Act Your Age, Eve Brown
Author: Talia Hibbert
Rating: 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Blurb: Eve Brown has always seen herself as flighty and a mess, so when she is forced to find a job on her own she is surprised to find that she is perfectly capable. Jacob’s bed and breakfast is his most important project, and he is surprised when Eve starts working for him and they forge a strong connection.
Unspoilery Review: I found this book charming! Eve was such a fascinating character, and I loved getting to know her better in this book! Jacob was a darling, and it was wonderful to see how his mind worked. Their love/ hate relationship totally worked for me, and I loved all the banter, the charming BnB, and the sexual tension. I also loved seeing this autism representation done so smoothly. So fun- I flew through the book!

Title: Turtles All the Way Down
Author: John Green
Rating: 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Blurb: Aza feels constantly stuck in her head and an ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts, but then one day she and her friend try to solve the mystery of a missing billionaire- who just so happens to be the Dad of Aza’s old childhood friend.
Unspoilery Review: This was a challenging book to read because I really felt like I was caught in the spiral of Aza’s thoughts at times which was insane- but also shows how well written this book is. Seeing mental health portrayed in this way was refreshing, and I am so glad that books like these exist to expand upon representation and feeling for others. Also, I adored all the poetry and deep concepts woven throughout the story. This book is definitely worth the read!

Title: Kiss My Cupcake
Author: Helena Hunting
Rating: 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Blurb: When Blaire opened her own cupcake and cocktail shop, she had everything planned out. But what she wasn’t prepared for was a rivalry with the attractive owner of the bar next door, Ronan.
Unspoilery Review: What a cheesy, addictive book! The rivalry was fun and dramatic, and I loved everything about the bars and food/ drinks. Blaire was so driven and smart, bad Ronan was super sweet and sarcastic. I loved seeing these two interact, and this book made me so hungry! Very cute story!

Title: The Stars and the Blackness Between Them
Author: Junauda Petrus
Rating: 4.5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
Blurb: When Audre is caught with her girlfriend, her mother sends her to the United States where she becomes close with a sweet, kind childhood friend, Mabel. These two black girls from different backgrounds feel a strong connection which is then challenged when Mabel gets some upsetting health news.
Unspoilery Review: This was such a powerful, sweet read. Audre is full of fire and a sort of magic that follows her from Trinidad and makes her stand out in the States. Mabel is kind and so strong as she fights for her health throughout this book. It told a beautiful story about finding love, committing to others, dealing with grief, being queer, and finding the strength within yourself to fight. This writing was addictive, and the story was one that I won’t easily forget.
Have you read any of these books? Which one sounds the best to you? I’d love to know your thoughts!
